Since arriving at this my new home with He, She and Little She I have slept in the bedroom with He and She. They tried to make me sleep downstairs, but I can open doors and I have been abandoned before. I have to wait while they change, but I lurk outside the door and at the first opportunity I am in, onto my 'rug' beside She and where I can keep an eye on the door. When He starts to settle down to sleep I wander round the bed and stick my nose into bed to say goodnight to him. He rubs my ears and I wander back to my rug. During the night I patrol around the room occasionally to make sure all is well and if I need to go out, which is unusual, I will wake He up. Normally though, it's he disturbing me with his wanderings, when he will send me in the garden for a short while, but when I come back in I will race him back upstairs! During the day I have my 'bed' in a spot by the table at which they eat and this is a lovely spot. Why? Well, in the picture above you should see why... I don't get food at the table but there is a shelf where I can put my head! After baths and when the weather's cold I get the opportunity to sleep by the fire, but the hearth is nothing like so high meaning it's not as comfortable as my shelf.
They believe my head is the shape of an Alsation's and that's a lot of head for a small dog, so I need somewhere to leave it occasionally and I have been known to rest it on a dining room chair to get the weight off my feet!
I don't sleep as much as many other dogs, but when I do then things have to be as I like them! Life is good!

Playing fetch
I could not believe this guy! He had had dogs before, Tinker, Bonnie, Sheba, Rebel, Prince, Lady, Poppet to name a few and he had never had one that played fetch! I had to teach him how, but he seems a quick learner.
We started by using a ball he had lying about. It was actually a cat toy that was a red ball with a bell in trapped inside a yellow skeleton ball. When he threw this it tinkled as it bounced and when I carried it it 'squished' as I clamped my jaws together. It was nice.
We started playing chase on a piece of ground that no-one takes their dogs to so I could teach him without distraction but, as I said, he is a quick learner, so we very soon started playing on the way to the wood. Sometimes I would put it down to do some serious nasal investigations but as soon as he asked me to fetch it I would go back and get it - no problem.
He has made a rule of no fetch it the wood though! It's a nature reserve and other people play fetch with their dogs there but he won't let me!

I met Dolly playing fetch on the field and she was lot's of fun. She was a small poodle and much slower than me so I always won the ball! But she took it a few times when I handed it over but she gave it back after a little chase and she was lots of fun. I do like other dogs and get on well with them all.
We did meet another dog who stole it and wouldn't give it back to anyone for a long time until some border collies distracted it. It really should learn some manners.
A few days ago the ball fell to pieces and he gave me a tennis ball. This was a bit big and boring. I tried to leave it lying around but he kept finding it again, so he gave up on that one and bought this nice new one. It's yellow and squeaks when you squash it. So when it's in your mouth and you squish it it makes a lovely sound! Sometimes I just want to carry this one and squish rather than give it back and play fetch!

Rubbish Bags
This guy is gonna take some training! I know how to survive on the streets, I have been there and got that badge. Now he expects me to walk past rubbish without investigating what is edible! OK, I have 3 meals a day - sometimes 4 and maybe more (he he) but you cannot ignore rubbish bags! He has started setting up diversions to avoid them even!
I do think this is unfair! Just 'cos I am putting on weight and getting a healthy diet.
Did I mention the treats?
Well maybe, just maybe, I will give up on the rubbish bags if they keep this up - but I reserve the right to have a little sniff now and again. Please?
